BlackBoxBETA is an online community like no other; We aim to create the missing link between gamers and producers of games, for testing, feedback and general gaming improvements!
Ever thought..
- I'm tired of buying and playing games that are released with bugs and problems due to lack of testing....
- If only the game had included ...... it would have been soo much more enjoyable...
- My input could make a difference to how good this game became, if only I'd had the chance to give it...
Where the game testing and production process falls down is with the online beta testing. Too often these tests have limited access, and this access is given out by lottery to random people who showed interest. While this shows no prejudice, it is not the most effective approach to getting good quality feedback. Those lucky enough to get access have no incentive to leave feedback or test the game properly, and may even have only signed up in passing and never test the game.
As a result of this, some good quality feedback is lost or overlooked in a mass of useless comments, and many access keys are wasted. BlackBoxBETA aims to revolutionise this by creating that "missing link" to gamers that game producers lack and to provide quality control and offer real incentives to provide good feedback!
How?Simple....we take away the "work" behind beta testing a game for games producers. We collect detailed feedback via questionnaires and forum coverage, and feed this back directly to game producers, already compiled and arranged in a usable format and with any "junk" removed. More than this, we can encourage and reward those who provide quality and appropriate feedback, giving them a greater voice with the producers and highlighting their opinions and thoughts. Instead of relying on a "lottery" approach to feedback due to the lack of an established community for each individual game, producers can now rely on gamers who have an interest in games, and in testing itself.
Why?
At BlackBoxBETA we believe that the PC games market has room to be even better than it is today! As PC games continue to grow more and more advanced and greater in size, the testing required grows greater also, along with the reliance on quality feedback. It can already been seen that some producer's struggle to get done the testing needed to produce a bug free game while still remaining competetive: games can have great potential but be undermined by annoying problems that could have been fixed before release. As gamers, this is highly frustrating at times, especially when we're enjoying the game otherwise.
Who?
The best part about what we do is that anyone can take part! If you have an interest in games and an internet browser, you can be involved! It doesn't take a lifetime commitment or a super-computer to make a difference, simply get onto our forums and the feedback pages, and let your opinion and testing results be known! Well written and relevent feedback will always be useful, and games producers need to know what everyone thinks, whether you're a professional gamer, or a weekend dabbler.
