B³ at Gamescom 09

logo_messeThe B³ team has been checking out the latest info from the top games manufacturers at this years Gamescom expo and catching up with some of the upcoming games we've been following + finding out exactly whats coming up next. This year marks the first Gamescom event, and it was a momentus one, with Blizzard, EA, Bethesda and many others all showing us the first glimpse of their upcoming titles as well as the chance to try out some of the latest games to hit development. 245,000 people visited the expo with 458 companies showing their offerings making Gamescom officially the largest trade show on it's first year!

One of the most notable stands we visited was Timegate's Section 8, running a demo of their upcoming shooter to coincide with the open beta launch last weekend. We'll be giving you a full writeup of our experiences both at Gamescom and with the open beta elsewhere on the site, but for now we'll leave it with one word - "smooth." In addition to Section 8 some of the B³ guys had the chance to queue (and test!) Diablo 3 at this years Blizzard stand and we'll be giving a full writeup of how Blizzard's game goliath will stack up versus the original games in the series.

Although they weren't at Gamescom, Cryptic have also been busy with the open beta of Champions Online now launched and seeing mass-signups: we'll be following their progress over the next month with a full writeup of our experiences. We'll also be bringing you info on Wet and Brink, 2 new games from Bethesda.

We can't hope to cover all the Gamescom info here, so instead I'll leave you with a few pics from the event. Keep your eyes tuned for our full writeup later this week!
